One arrested in club shooting

ALBANY — Police have arrested a man they say shot another man in the buttocks Monday.

Zavieyon Hightower, 20, was charged with aggravated assault after police said he confessed to firing a weapon at Club Climax on East Oglethorpe Boulevard Monday, striking 18-year-old Jason Anthony in the buttocks, according to an APD news release.

Police confiscated a weapon from Hightower’s home and are running ballistics tests to see if it was the same one used in Monday’s shooting, police said.

Police are also seeking Alonzo Mingo, 23, Antonio Oliver, 17, and a third man known only as “Eric B” to question in connection with the shooting, according to the news release.

Anyone with information can call (229) 436-TIPS.
