APD hopeful public can identify burglary suspect

  • A large amount of clothing was stolen from an Albany store early Sunday morning, authorities say.

ALBANY — Albany police are hoping that someone in the community may recognize one of three men accused of burglarizing a clothing store early Sunday morning, authorities said.

Phyllis Banks, spokesperson for the Albany Police Department, said that three men broke into TNT Fashions at 707 W. Broad Ave. around 4 a.m. Sunday morning.

The men entered the store and are believed to have stolen a large amount of clothing, including jeans, shirts and hats, before making their getaway, Banks said.

Although the store’s surveillance video captured the burglary, Banks said investigators haven’t been able to identify any of the suspects and are looking for help from the public. “What we’re trying to do is reach out to the public to try and identify this one subject in hopes that it will ultimately lead us to the others,” Banks said.

On Wednesday, police released still images taken from surveillance video that show a man with a cell phone and gloves stacking clothing items on a counter at the business.

Anyone with information is asked to call Albany Crimestoppers at 436-TIPS.
