Car stolen from credit company

  • A vehicle stolen from a business Wednesday has been recovered on Whitney Avenue.

ALBANY — Three men broke into an auto credit business Wednesday night, stealing checks, cash and a sport-utility vehicle, police reports show.

Around 11:50 p.m., a witness at the Oglethorpe Motel told police that he heard a loud crash and saw three men get in three different vehicles and drive away from Easy Pay Auto Credit on the 900 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard, according to police reports.

Easy Pay Manager Gid Coston told police that it appeared that someone had taken $350 in cash, $300 in checks, a Canon camera valued at $350 and a 2002 black Ford Expedition, the report says. Police estimated the total value of the items taken and damage done at $11,800.

Later in the evening, an APD unit found the Expedition in an alley near the 600 block of West Whitney Avenue, the report says.

No suspects were discovered and the vehicle was towed back to Easy Pay.

The case was turned over to an investigator. No arrests have been made.
