Police seek suspects in possible dog fight

  • Police are looking for two men in connection with a possible dog fight discovered Sunday, authorities say.

ALBANY — Five dogs have been seized after authorities say they interupted a dog fight Sunday night.

Albany police officials say that after responding to a complaint about possible dogfighting going on in the area, they discovered two men watching at least four dogs “act in an aggressive manner towards each other.”

APD spokesperson Phyllis Banks said that the two men fled when officers came walking through a wooded area behind the 400 block of Williams Street. Officers broke off the pursuit of the men after the dogs tried to attack them, Banks said.

A total of five pit bulls were seized by animal control officers and taken to the humane society, Banks said.

Police are now searching for the two men and say they need the public’s help to catch them.

One of the suspects, identified as Morris Bernard Hill, is described as a 19-year-old with dark skin, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing in around 160 pounds. He last lived on the 300 block of Hudson Street.

The second suspect is also dark-skinned and 5 feet, 10 inches tall but weighs slightly more at 170 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call Albany Crimestoppers at 436-TIPS.
