Woman's death being probed

ALBANY — Albany police found a 66-year-old East Albany woman dead in her residence Tuesday and are treating the case as a homicide.

Susie Hollingsworth’s body was found after police received a call about 9:20 p.m. Tuesday and went to her home at 202 N. Mock Road, Albany Police Department spokesperson Phyllis Banks said.

Police haven’t said how Hollingsworth died or why they believe foul play may have been involved. Banks said the case was being treated as a homicide and that officers were at the residence Tuesday night investigating the death.

“She may have died suspiciously,” Banks said. “The detectives are working to piece things together right now.”

Banks said police went to the home after receiving a call from relatives asking them to check on Hollingsworth. 911 officials had said earlier that police and EMTs were dispatched to the home because of a cardiac arrest call.
