Ocie Lee Lane Bush

ALBANY — Ocie Lee Lane Bush, 86, of 601 Gaines Ave., Albany, died MArch 31, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 A.M. at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 3137 Palmyra Rd., Albany with interment in Riverside Cemetery. Rev. Silas Jackson will officiate.

Mrs. Bush was born in Lee Co. on September 1, 1931. She was a homemaker and was educated in the Lee Co. Public School System and was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include, six daughters; Mrs. Debra Davidson (Michael) of Colorado Springs, CO., Geraldine Bush of Gulf Port, MS., Gloria Dean Wallace of Jonesboro, Dora B. Lumpkin (Julius) of Warner Robins, Ocie M. Smith and Mrs. Wanda Britten both of Albany, six brothers; Larry Don Bush (Annie Ruth), David Bush, Charles E. Bush, John E. Bush and William Bush all of Albany, Alex James Bush ( Peggie) of Irvington, NJ. and several grands and great grandchildren.

The remains of Mrs. Bush will be in the church on Saturday morning from 10 A.M. until the funeral hour.

Willie Benjamin Daniels, Jr.

ALBANY — Mr. Willie Benjamin Daniels, Jr., 69, died, March 31, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. Monday at the Beulah Baptist Church, 802 S. Jefferson St., Albany with interment on Floral Memory Gardens. Rev. J. H. Reynolds, Pastor and Rev. Eugene Smith will officiate.

Mr. Daniels was born September 20, 1938 in Lee Co. He was a retired Auto Mechanic, a 1958 Graduate of Monroe High School and was of Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Yolanda Daniels of Westland, MI., three daughters, Mrs. Carmaleta Smith (Eugene) of Detroit, MI., Mrs. LaJuana Daniels Woods (Maurice) of Albany and Mrs. Curleisha Daniels of Westland, MI., five sons, Mr. Wendell Daniels, Mr. Willie B. Daniels, III both of Detroit, MI., Mr. Ickeo Daniels (Pamela) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., Mr. Odolph Daniels (Dezelda) of Romulas, MI., one son preceded him in death, Mr. Stephen Daniels, his mother, Mrs. Azzie Lee Daniels of Albany, 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The remains of Mr. Daniels will be in the church on Monday morning from 1 A.M. until the funeral hour.

Willie Lee Farley

SYLVESTER — Mr. Willie Lee Farley, 62, of 105 Carmen Lane, Sylvester died March 30, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be Saturday, APRIL 5, 2008 at 11 A.M. at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Sylvester with interment in Shepard Memorial Garden. Elder Larry Williams will officiate.

Mr. Farley was born October 1, 1945 in Harris Co. He was educated in the Worth Co. Public School System and was employed by the Worth Co. Public School System as primarily a bus driver for 40-42 years. He was a member of the Gospel group “The Crowns of Life” and early in life was a member of the New Testament Church of Jesus Christ, Sylvester, later in life he was a member of the Church of the Living God, Sylvester.

Survivors include his wife, Matilda Farley, Ashburn; 3 daughters, Veronica Farley, April Hooks, Katrina Fulton, all of Sylvester, 1 step daughter, Tracy Lundy, Warner Robins, 3 sons, Earl Farley, Tony Farley, Dontaveious Hooks, all of Sylvester, mother, Ellen R. Farley, Sylvester, 5 sisters, Dorothy Williams, Jessie P. Wilburn, Jonette Johnson, Cynthia Crawford, JoAnn Farley, all of Sylvester, 2 brothers, Robert Farley, Jimmy Lee Farley, both of Sylvester, 17 grands, 6 great grands.

Linda Gibson Gladney

ALBANY — Mrs. Linda Gibson Gladney, 4723 Cooper St., died Friday March 28, 2008.

Her memorial service will be 2 PM Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Crown Hill Mausoleum. Mr. Ross Powell will officiate.

A native of Albany, Mrs. Gladney was retired from M & M Mars. She was a member of the 2nd Georgia Artillery Reenactment Group.

Survivors include her husband Al Gladney, Albany; son Michael Goins, Albany; step daughter, Jessie Harder and step son, Sam Gladney both of Cordele; sisters, Laura Gibson, Albany, Stephanie Allebaugh, Sylvester, 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends after the service.

Willie D. Slaughter, Jr.

DAWSON — Willie D. Slaughter, Jr., 63, of Junction City, KS, died Sunday, March 30, 2008 in McDonough, Ga. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 3 P.M. at Mountain Grove Missionary Baptist church, Herod, Ga. where Rev. Tywan Heath is pastor. Rev. Marvin Brown will officiate. Interment will follow in Cedar hill Cemetery, Dawson, Ga.

Willie D. Slaughter, Jr. was born March 5, 1945 in Terrell Co. to the late Annie W. Slaughter and the late Rev. Willie D. Slaughter, Sr.

Jr., as he was affectionately called, was educated in the public schools of Terrell Co. He worked as a contractor, painter, and carpenter for a number of years until his health failed.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother, Eula Slaughter Turner, Susie Slaughter, Minnie D. Slaughter Armstrong, and Charlie Slaughter.

Jr. leaves to cherish his precious memories, a significant other, Teresa Dixon of Junction City, KS; his children, Cedric (Ana) Slaughter of McDonough, Ga., Melrosa (Dan) Russell of Lilburn, Ga., Merlavette (Kenneth) Jackson of Powder Springs, Ga., Napoleon Slaughter of Los Angeles, CA., Kelvin Slaughter, LeVett Green (David), and Anthony Green, all of Albany, Ga., Moses Slaughter of Columbus, Ga., Terrance Mallory of Dawson, Ga.; five sisters, Willie Pearl Antwih, Carrie Bell Salter, and Shirley Ann Smalls, all of Albany, Ga., Laura Jean Johnson (Wallace) and Schuylar Davis, both of Dawson, Ga.; one brother, Gary Slaughter of Dawson, Ga.; twenty one grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

There will be a Memorial on Friday afternoon, April 4, 2008, conducted by brother Mike Morris of McDonough, Ga. at the Ward Funeral chapel from 7-8 P.M. 310 Graves HWY., Dawson, Ga.

Sheila Barnes Stutsman

ALBANY — Ms. Sheila Barnes Stutsman, 61, of Putney joined our Lord in Heaven on April 2, 2008.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2008 11 AM at Lutheran Church of Our Saviour. Rev. Connie Bramlett officiating. Entombment will follow in Crown Hill Mausoleum.

A native of Albany, GA, Ms. Stutsman was a 1964 graduate of Albany High School, and attended Valdosta State College. She is a graduate of Georgia Southwestern. She traveled the world as a military wife in the late 1960s and 1970s, before coming back to make Albany her home. She was a dedicated teacher in the Dougherty County School System for over twenty years. She was a lifetime member of VFW Post 2785 Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of American Legion Post {pound}30 Auxiliary. She regularly volunteered, sewing bears for children, with the SOWEGA Knights of Columbus sewing group. She was a dedicated bridge player and an avid coin collector. Other hobbies included reading, watching movies, and listening to the Grateful Dead and Fleetwood Mac. She was a true animal lover, and never turned a stray animal away from her home. Sheila never met a stranger, as every person she encountered could could count on a conversation. She was a lovingdaughter, mother, and sister.

She is survived by her mother and father, Ellen and Silas Barnes of Putney; one sister and her husband, Cecelia and Vernon Luckey of Huntsville, AL; three daughters and their spouses, Melissa and Shane Hannafey of Lake Worth, Florida, Maryellen and Mark Roberson of Katy, Texas, and Katherine and Dennis Ciorciari of Chattanooga, TN. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren: Samantha, William, Connor, Katie, Briana, and Joshua; one nephew, Todd Stegall; and 2 nieces, Stacey Luckey and Christina Schwichtenburg.

The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern on Friday, April 4, 2008 from 5:00PM To 7:00PM.

The family has asked that donations be made in lieu of flowers to the American Heart Association, Memorial Honor Fund, Southwest Georgia Area Office, P.O. Box 1923, Albany, GA 31702.
