FT. GAINES Edward J.
Boldin Sr., 61, of Ft. Gaines, died
Wednesday, April 2, 2008.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m.
Tuesday at the Brown Chapel
AME Church, Ft. Gaines, with
burial to follow in the New Hope
AME Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held today (Monday)
from 4:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the
mortuary.

BAINBRIDGE Guy V.
Hatcher, 83, of Bainbridge, died
Sunday, April 6, 2008. Funeral
services will be held 2 p.m. at
First Christian Church, with burial
to follow at Oak City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held today
(Monday) from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the

Lott Burton Hobby
ASHBURN Funeral services
for Lott Burton L.B. Hobby, 85,
of Ashburn, will be held today
(Monday) at 2 p.m. at the
Ashburn First Baptist Church, with
burial to follow in the Rose Hill
Cemetery. Mr. Hobby died
Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Tift Regional
Medical Center following a brief
illness.
Mr. Hobby was born in Turner
County, GA, and was the son of
the late Luther Cleveland and
Berta Mae Shepherd Hobby. He
was a retired employee of the
Georgia Federal State Inspection
Service and a cattleman.
He served in the U.S. Army
during World War II. He was a
member of the Ashburn First
Baptist Church, where he
attended the Fishermans Sunday
School Class. He was a member
of the Cattlemans Association,
Sycamore Masonic Lodge No.
210, and Hasan Shrine Temple
in Albany. He was also a member
of the Ashburn Chapter of the
Order of the Eastern Star and
American Legion Post No. 98.
His lifetime hobbies were fishing,
bird hunting and watching Atlanta
Braves baseball.
Mr. Hobby is survived by his
wife, Alma R. Hobby of Ashburn
and his children, Michael Hobby,
Mickie Jean Hobby and Mona H.
Morris, all of Ashburn. He is also
survived by two grandchildren,
Zack Hobby of Cordele and Cody
Morris of Ashburn. Also surviving
is one brother, Cleveland
(Ramona) Hobby of Ashburn.

CUTHBERT Harold Luther
Pearson, 70, of Cuthbert, died
Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the
home of his son in Cuthbert.
Graveside funeral services will
be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m.
at Mount Heaborn Baptist Church
Cemetery, near Cuthbert. Mr.
Joe Pierson will officiate.
Mr. Pearson was born July 15,
1937 in Troy, AL, son of the late
Charlie Bascom Pearson and
Mattie Alice Swain Pearson. He
was a truck owner and operator.
He was married to the late
Barbara Pearson.
Survivors include three sons,
Martie and Jennifer Pearson,
David and Debra Pearson and
Jason Pearson; two daughters,
Tammy and Steve Wilson and
Ivey Pearson; two brothers, Ellis
R. Pearson of Nashville, TN, and
Joe L. Pierson of Mooresville,
NC; and 11 grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends
today (Monday) from 6 p.m.-8
p.m. at Lunsford Funeral Home.
