Frances Raynell Hubble

ALBANY — Frances Raynell Hubble, 74, of Albany, died Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

The graveside service will be held at 1 PM Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Crown Hill Cemetery with Mr. Hartwell Hubble, Jr. officiating.

A native of Albany, Mrs. Hubble loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid bingo player and was affectionately known as ”B-42”. Mrs. Hubble was preceded in death by her husband, Hartwell Hubble, Sr.; a brother, Billy Smith; and a daughter, Kelly Ann Hubble.

Mrs. Hubble is survived by her children, Hartwell Hubble, Jr., and his wife Gail of Enterprise, AL, Bill Hubble and his wife Wanda of Albany, and Elizabeth Faircloth and her husband Lavon of Albany; two grandchildren, Kayla Faircloth and Ricky Faircloth; three great-grandchildren, Destiny Faircloth, Hartwell Faircloth, and Jayden Faircloth; sister-in-law, Paula Smith; her brothers and sisters, Bessie Jewel Knight and her husband Thad of Leesburg; Danny Smith and his wife Charlie Mae of Albany, Ben Smith of Albany, Peggy Mercer and her husband Mack of Albany, and Kitty Shearer of Leesburg; a brother- in-law, Vance Hubble of Eight Mile, AL; and was the legal guardian of Tina Woodward of Dawson and Clint Shearer of Leesburg.

Mildred Carter McCowan

ALBANY — The funeral service of of Mildred ”Millie” Carter McCowan, of 1715 W. Broad, who died Sunday, April 6, 2008, will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00AM at Faith Baptist Church. Rev. Al Wilbourn, Rev. Jerry Deans and Rev. Paul Wilkes will officiate. A committal service will follow at Omega Cemetery in Baxley, GA at 4:00 P.M.

A native of Baxley, GA, Mrs. McCowan had lived in Albany since 1956 moving from Maryland. She was a homemaker, a charter member of Faith Baptist Church and she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. Mrs. McGowan was also a former choir member and was a member of the Lydia Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her husband, Allen McCowan of Albany, a son, Clinton Keith Courson and his wife Lou Ellen of Ochlocknee, GA, a daughter, Linda Ruth Thurman of Marietta, GA, a brother, Wilton Carter and his wife, Sylvia, of Baxley, GA, three sisters, Alma Beecher, of Baxley, GA, Betty Jane Moore and hersband Rev. Ellis Moore of Maryland and Addie Belle Gunter of Augusta, GA, three grandchildren, Jessica L. Thurman and Robert Justin Thurman, both of Marieta, GA and Clinton Lee Courson and his wife, Kristin, of Macon, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home.
