William Shilling

ALBANY — William ”Bill” Shilling, also known as Don Michaels, 62, of Leesburg, died Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at his residence.

The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday at Life Christian Center International with the Rev. Stan Glass officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Dawson.

Mr. Shilling was a native of Philadelphia, PA. He was a member of Life Christian Center International. Mr. Shilling worked for WALB TV for eighteen years as well as numerous radio stations in the Albany area. He also loved fishing. Mr. Shilling was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Gladys Shilling and a brother-in-law, Tracy Hunter.

He is survived by his loving wife, Victoria ”Vicki” H. Shilling of Leesburg; a brother, Steve Shilling of Gulf breeze, FL, his loyal and faithful pet ”Tiki”, brothers and sisters-in-laws, Johnny and Sandra Hunter of Preston, Wilbur and Linda Clark of Albany, Buddy and Jeannette Harry of Preston, Jackie and Philda Hunter of Leesburg, Dennis and Joey Hunter of Sylvester, Mike and Sean Hunter of Americus, Tammie Hunter of Sylvester, Steve and Virginia Holloway of Sylvester; 13 nieces and nephews; and 20 great nieces and nephews.

Katie Yancey Thomas

ALBANY — Mrs. Katie Yancey Thomas, 84, 1712 Avalon Ave. who died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at her residence.

The funeral service will be at 1 P.M. Thursday, APRIL 10, 2008 at Third Kiokee Baptist Church with burial in Floral Memory Gardens. Rev. J.H. Reynolds will officiate.

A native of Dougherty Co., Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Third Kiokee Baptist Church and served as a Deaconess.

Survivors include children; Charles (Jackie) Thomas of Fairburn, Rev. Mary (Charlie) Barbary of Lawrenceville, Will (Brenda) Thomas, Jr. and Bernnie Thomas of San Jose, CA., Christine (Bernard) Caston, Sacremento, CA., Irene Swinnie of Stockton, CA. and Betty (Larry) Sutton of Albany, two brothers, George Jones and Albert Jones; one sister, Linda Jones Brown; one Aunt, Mrs. Carrie Kendrick; four sisters-in-law, Ruth Breedlove, Julia Marshall, Dora Jones and Maxine Jones, 1 brother-in-law, Rev. Levi Breedlove and several grandchildren; two devoted care givers; Johnnie K. Tumblin and Juanita Porter.
