Sandra Kay Coleman

ALBANY — Mrs. Sandra Kay Coleman (Sandi), 62, of Albany died Tuesday April 8, 2008 after a lengthy illness.

Her funeral services will be held Saturday 10:00AM at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church. Rev. Ray Levreault will be officiating.

A native of Ames, Iowa, Mrs. Coleman had lived in Albany for the past 10 years. She was a retired nurse and worked in Sales. She loved to work with people and spend time with her grandchildren. She was aGraduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Rochester, Minnesota and a member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church. She was also in the Albany Day Lily Club. She was preceded in death by her parents Kermit and Ruth Shaw.

Survivors include her husband James Coleman of Leesburg; two sons Timothy V. Coleman and his wife Kelly of Toledo OH; Joseph J. Coleman and his wife Lynn of Leesburg; a brother Howard Shaw and his wife Sandra of Racine, Wisconsin; five grandchildren Brennan, Colleen, and Eryn Coleman, Nicole and Simon Lavas; Several nieces and nephews.

A Prayer Service will be held Friday 7:00PM at Kimbrell-Stern with visitation to follow until 8:30PM.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial contributions be made to Albany Community Hospice, 2332 Lake Park, Drive, Albany, GA, 31707 or the American Cancer Society, 323 Pine Ave., Albany, Ga. 31701.

Frances Weatherly Stanford

ALBANY — Frances Weatherly Stanford, 88, of Albany died Tuesday April 8, 2008 at HCA Palmyra Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held Saturday April 12, 2008, 2 PM at Walden Chapel of First United Methodist Church Dr. Donald M. Kea and Rev. Toney Haefs will officiate. The family will receive friends after the service.

A native of Greenville, AL, Mrs. Stanford had lived in Albany most of her life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the DAR. She graduated from Albany High School and was a volunteer at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis J. Stanford.

Survivors include 2 sons, Bobby Stanford and his wife Cindy of Albany and their children Jamie Sims, Neil Stanford, Jenny Williams, Haley and Patrick Stanford; John Stanford and his wife Sue of Atlanta and their children, Katie, Sara, Ann and Will Stanford; a sister, Elizabeth Landrum of Rocky Face, Ga. and a brother Fred Weatherly of Atlanta, 10 great-grandchildren also survive.

Frances understood the true meaning of life was found in simple things. Her whole being was devoted to the care and love of her husband, sons and their families.

ALBANY — Georgia Thomas, 96, died April 4, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Friday 11 A.M. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with interment in Riverside Cemetery.
