Herbert J. Cook, Sr.
SYLVESTER, GA Mr. Herbert J. Cook, Sr of Sylvester died Thursday, April
10, 2008 at his residence.
The funeral service will be held at Isabella Baptist Church, 2:00 PM Sunday,
April 13, 2008, with burial to follow at the Isabella cemetery. The service
will be held with Military Honors. The Rev. Al Wilbourn and the Rev. Jason
Jones will officiate.
Mr. Cook was born December 25, 1928, in Summerville, SC. He retired First
Sergeant in the United States Army and served in the Korean War. Mr. Cook was
the former owner/operator of Cooks Trucking. He often enjoyed hunting,
fishing and wood working; especially building bird houses. He was a family man
who loved his grandchildren and was a member of Isabella Baptist Church. He
was preceeded in death by his father, Laler Cook and his mother, Mary Amelia
Wyndham Cook
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Latham Cook of Sylvester; one son,
Herbert J. Cook, Jr. and his wife, Lori of Sylvester; one daughter, Amelia
Cook of Sylvester; and two grandchildren, Stuart and Madison Cook of
Sylvester.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 12, 2008 from 5 PM-7 PM at
Banks Funeral Home.

SYLVESTER, GA Mr. Johnny L. Moore of 116 Cotton Street, Sylvester, passed
away on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral

Dorothy Thompkins Reese
ALBANY Dorothy Thompkins Reese, 68, of 601 Holloway Ave., died Monday,
April 7, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service will be Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 3:30 PM at Mt.
Pilgrim Baptist Church. Interment to follow at Floral Memory Gardens. The Rev.
Mark Turner will officiate.
Born October 29, 1939, Dorothy was educated in the Dougherty County Public
School system and attended both Albany State College and Rutgers College, New
Jersey. Dorothy was a homemaker and attended Mr. Pilgrim Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth (Antonia) Reese, Xavier Reese and
Michael Reese; five grandchildren, Mineesha and Dineesha Wallace, Miciah
Davis, Anna and Joshua Reese; two brothers, Isaiah Thompkins and Paul
Thompkins; one sister, Dora Thompkins; and several nieces, nephews and other
relatives.

Christopher B. Wall, Jr.
ALBANY Christopher B. Wall, Jr., 18, of 2809 Lucille Dr. Apt B., Killeen,
Texas, died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple,
Texas.
Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. today (Saturday) at Bethany Temple
Church of God In Christ. Interment will follow in the Union Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. Walls grandmother, Ms Rosa
Hunt at 532 Jefferies Avenue.
