Albany Mollie J. Boggs, 61,
of Leesburg died Monday, April
14, 2008, at her residence,
Memorial services will be conducted
at 11 a.m. at Mathews Funeral
Home. The Rev. Bobby Moye will
officiate. The family will receive
friends immediately following the
service.
A native of and long time
resident of Albany, Mrs. Boggs had
resided in Leesburg since 1983.
She was a homemaker and
retired from Delphi.
Survivors include her husband,
Joe D. Boggs, Sr. of Leesburg,
GA, a son, Joe D. Boggs, II and
his wife, Dianne, a daughter,
Julie David-Deck and her husband,
Michael all of Albany, GA, a
brother, Jimmy Ramsey and his
wife Lisa of Moultrie, GA, two
sisters, Mary Griffin and her
husband, William of Leesburg, GA
and Christine Hill of Worth Co.,
GA, four grandchildren, Joey
David and his wife, Wendy and
Jordan Heather David all of
Leesburg, GA, Brandon David of
Phoenix, AZ and Jody Boggs of
Albany, GA and one great-
grandchild.

ALBANY Willie C. Crafton
Sr. 83 of 1502 Avalon Ave. died
Friday, April 11, 2008 at his
home.
The funeral will be 11a.m.
Friday, April 18, 2008 at Mt. Airy
Baptist Church, Pineland
Plantation in Newton, GA. The
interment will follow in the church
cemetery. The Rev. Willie B.
Sales will officiate.
Mr. Crafton was born
December 12, 1924 in Baker
County. He attended Baker
County Public Schools. He
worked as a farmer. Mr. Crafton
was a member of the Deacon
and Usher Board at Mr. Airy
Baptist Church which he attended
regularly.
Survivors include a son, Mr.
Willie C Crafton, Jr and his wife
Ruth of Columbus, GA; three
daughters, Mrs. Rubie
Haugabrook and her husband Lonnie of
Cordele, GA; Mr. Sally Crafton
Williams and her husband Gerald
of Albany, and Mrs. May Williams
of College Park, GA. One sister,
Mrs. Annie Mae Plant of Genesh,
New Jersey, five grandchildren
and six great grandchildren.
The family of Mr. Crafton will
receive friends and relative at the
home of his daughter, Sally
Crafton Williams of 2102 Indica Trail,
Albany, GA.

Ruth Erskine Potter Rice
STATESVILLE, NC Mrs.
Ruth Erskine Potter Rice, 88, a
resident of Morningside Assisted
Living in Albany, Georgia and
formerly of Statesville, N.C.from
1950 until 1979, died Monday,
April 14, 2008 in Albany. She
was born in Denton, Texas on
July 22, 1919 a daughter of the
late Clarence Potter and Ethel
Chalmers Potter. She was a
retired teacher and formerly taught
in the Iredell County School
System. While in Statesville, Mrs.
Rice was an active member and
Administrative Board member of
the Broad St. United Methodist
Church. Also, she was the Local
District and State Chair for the
N.C. Soil and Water Association
Ladies Auxiliary. She was a Past
President of the Statesville
Symphony organization and the
Statesville Womens Club. She
also served on the Administrative
Board of the Rosewell United
Methodist Church while living in
Rosewell, Georgia from 1979
until 2004. Her husband, Mr. James
L. (Jimmy) Rice, died in 1974.
Left to cherish her memory are
two daughters, Mrs. Jain Rice
McGarity and her husband, Bob
of Albany, Ga. and Mrs. Ann Rice
Arthur and her husband, Mike of
Bradenton, FL along with
grandchildren: Kathy M. Benton
and her husband, Gill and Sarah
Bennett and her husband,
Russell. Also surviving are three
great grandchildren: Barrett
Benton, Sam Benton and Charles
Bennett.
Graveside services celebrating
Mrs. Rices life will be conducted
at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19,
2008 at Oakwood Cemetery in
Statesville with the Rev. Don
Shuman officiating. The family
will speak with friends at the
cemetery immediate following the
service.
