Rachel Brim Callis
SASSER Rachel Brim Callis The funeral services of Rachel Brim Callis , 79,
of Sasser, who died Thursday, April 17, 2008, at Phoebe Putney Memorial
Hospital, will be conducted 2 P.M., Sunday, April 20 at Sasser United
Methodist Church The Reverend Wesley Kaylor will officiate. Internment will
follow 4 P.M. at Oakview Cemetery, Camilla, GA. The family will receive
friends at her residence, 177 Hwy 82 W, Sasser, GA, 6-8 P.M. today April 19th.
Born to Elrie & Julia Adams November 4, 1928, in the small town of Yeomans,
GA, she was the 7th of 8 children. A graduate of Sasser High School, she
attended Georgia State Womens College in Milledgeville. After receiving her
degree in education, she married Joe Allen Brim in March of 1949. They later
moved to Camilla where she taught many years and retired from Mitchell County
High School as a respected and much beloved teacher of Home Economics.
Widowed from Joe Brim in 1977, she later married William Callis in 1980 and
moved back to Sasser. She gave selflessly of her time and talents to her
family, friends and her community; continued her support of education through
membership in the Terrell Retired Educators Association; and was a devoted
member of Sasser Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the Sasser
Town Council. She worked countless hours as Church Historian and will be
remembered by many for her volunteer efforts with the churchs Sasser Thrift
Shop.
Preceded in death by brothers Frank, Omer, and Bill Adams and
daughter-in-law Babs Goldner Brim, she is survived by brothers Howard Adams of
Leslie and J.E. Adams of California, sisters Nadine Frazier and Jean Adams,
both of Union City, GA, daughter Julie Brim Gore and her husband William of
Albany, son Jon Allen Brim and grandson Jordan Allen Brim of Albany, grandson
Joe Adam Brim, his wife Crystal, and her great-grandson Jacob Brim, all of
Leesburg.
Miss. Rachel was deeply caring of all Gods creatures; always there to
support someone in need; and never met a kitty she wouldnt rescue. She had a
gentle, but strong, spirit and was the epitome of a poised and gracious lady.
She would wish her memory to be honored by giving generously of yourself and
cherishing the time you have with those you love. Those desiring may make

2008. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 20 at 1:30 p.m. at the First
Missionary Baptist Church, Georgetown, with burial to follow in the Cedar Hill
Cemetery, Dawson. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m.-8:30 p.m. today

Vivian P. Womack
COLQUITT Vivian P. Womack, 92 of Eldorendo, GA died Thursday, April 17,
2008 at her home. The funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 20, at
3 p.m. at the Eldorendo Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church
cemetery. Active pallbearers will be John Wheeler, Eddie Cook, Michael Barber,
Aubrey Hand, Julian Powell, Garrett Powell, Greg Calhoun and Hank Cannon.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Eldorendo Baptist Church.
Mrs. Womack was born June 2, 1915 in Decatur Co. As an adult she worked and
retired from the Bainbridge State Hospital. Mrs. Womack is preceded in death
by her husband T.A. (Aubert) Womack.
Survivors include one daughter, Edith M. Wheeler of Bainbridge; three
grandchildren, Alan Wheeler and Kaye Wheeler both of Bainbridge and Renee
(J.R.) Hand of Eldorendo; six great-grandchildren, Amy (Michael) Barber of
Brinson, John Wheeler of Bainbridge, Aubrey Hand, McKenzie Hand, Amber (Eddie)
Cook all of Eldorendo and Lindsey Hand of Panama City, FL; two
great-great-grandchildren, Addison Cook and Ansley Cook both of Eldorendo and
a special cousin, Nell Bean of Bainbridge.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Eldorendo Baptist
Church Cemetery Fund or the Flint River Hospice.
