Internment will follow 4 P.M. at Oakview Cemetery, Camilla, GA. The family will receive friends at her residence, 177 Hwy 82 W, Sasser, GA, 6-8 P.M. today April 19th.

Born to Elrie & Julia Adams November 4, 1928, in the small town of Yeomans, GA, she was the 7th of 8 children. A graduate of Sasser High School, she attended Georgia State Women’s College in Milledgeville. After receiving her degree in education, she married Joe Allen Brim in March of 1949. They later moved to Camilla where she taught many years and retired from Mitchell County High School as a respected and much beloved teacher of Home Economics.

Widowed from Joe Brim in 1977, she later married William Callis in 1980 and moved back to Sasser. She gave selflessly of her time and talents to her family, friends and her community; continued her support of education through membership in the Terrell Retired Educators’ Association; and was a devoted member of Sasser Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the Sasser Town Council. She worked countless hours as Church Historian and will be remembered by many for her volunteer efforts with the church’s Sasser Thrift Shop.

”Miss. Rachel” was deeply caring of all God’s creatures; always there to support someone in need; and never met a kitty she wouldn’t rescue. She had a gentle, but strong, spirit and was the epitome of a poised and gracious lady. She would wish her memory to be honored by giving generously of yourself and cherishing the time you have with those you love.
