CHARLESTON, SC — Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of April 18, 2008, Elizabeth Davis DeVane, widow of Lewis Howard DeVane. Residence, Mt. Pleasant, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Monday, April 21, 2008 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Andersonville National Cemetery, Andersonville, GA, Tuesday at noon. Friends may call at Stuhr’s Downtown Chapel Sunday between 5 p.m.-7 p.m.

Mrs. DeVane was born December 27, 1919 in Hendersonville, SC, the daughter of David A. Davis and Sarah Elizabeth Blocker Davis. She was a Kindergarten Teacher and a member of First United Methodist Church in Albany, GA. Elizabeth was the last surviving child of 12 children.

She is survived by a daughter, Ann DeVane LeFevre and her husband, Bill of Charleston, SC; a son, David Lewis DeVane and his wife, Ellaine of Charleston, SC; five grandchildren: Beth LeFevre Hendrix and her husband Jim, Anna Paige LeFevre, Tara DeVane Filaski and her husband David, Ashley DeVane Demosthenes and her husband Harry, III and Courtland DeVane; and four great- granddaughters, Liza Hendrix, Blythe Filaski, Claire Filaski, and Emilie Demosthenes.
