Ernest Wayne Brock

MOULTRIE — Ernest Wayne Brock, 61, of 368 S. Church St. Moultrie, died Saturday, April 19, 2008. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pinveview Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends today (Monday) from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jan Whitaker Carlton

JULIETTE — Jan Whitaker Carlton, 52, died Saturday, April 19, 2008.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Martha Bowman Memorial United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bob Moon and Mr. Mike Newsome will officiate. Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Dawson, Georgia. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until service time at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Martha Bowman Memorial United Methodist Church, 500 Bass Road, Macon 31210. Members of Rotary are asked to sit together as a group at the funeral service in Macon as honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. Carlton was born in Albany, Georgia and was a former sales manager for radio stations in Dawson, Albany and Macon. She was also the owner/operator of Snelling Personnel Services in Macon and Warner Robins. Mrs. Carlton was a member of Martha Bowman Memorial United Methodist Church and was a former member of Rotary in Dougherty County and former president of Rotary in Macon. She was a member of Leadership Macon and Albany, past president of the Albany Area Communications Club, founded “Friday in the Park” and “Country Under” the Stars concerts for charity, chairperson of River Days Festival and raised money for a host of charities and organizations. Mrs. Carlton was the daughter the late Autry Mobley Whitaker.

Mrs. Carlton is survived by her husband, Robert Willie Carlton of Juliette; sons, Jason Grant Orndoff and his wife, Stacey of Albany, John Austin Spillman of Macon ; grandchildren, Jase Orndoff and Layla Orndoff; father, James William Whitaker, Sr. of Dawson; and a brother, James William Whitaker, Jr.

Born on December 4, 1939 in Mitchell County, GA, Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late Esker C. and Lois Cameron Harvey. She was a homemaker and a retired seamstress.

Survivors include her husband, Leonie L. Jones of Pelham; sons, Wayne Adams of Port Richie, FL, and Riland L. Jones of Valdosta; stepsons, Pierce Jones of Oklahoma and Tommy Jones of Cairo; sister, Linda H. Palmer of Thomasville; and five grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by a son, Craig Allen Adams and a brother, Glynn Harvey.

Marion C. Mock

BLAKELY — Marion C. Mock, 88, of 11612 Columbia Rd., Blakely, died Saturday, April 19, 2008 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Blakely Cemetery. Dr. Charles DeVane and the Rev. Matt Bonnette will officiate.

Pallbearers are Dustin Mock, Rob King, Andy King, Danny King, David Mock, and Charles Mock.

Born in Early County, GA, on March 16, 1920, Mr. Mock was the son of the late Charlie Marcellous Mock and Nora Folds Mock. He was a retired vice president of First State Bank in Blakely and a member of Blakely First Baptist Church. He served in the Army during the World War II.

Survivors include his wife, La’nez King Mock of Blakely; a daughter, MiMi Mock of Gordon, AL; six sons, Chad Mock and wife, Debra, Kim Mock and wife, Lynn, Kirk Mock and wife, April, Mitch Mock and wife, Joan, Pat Mock and Robin Mock, all of Blakely; a brother, Maynard G. Mock of Blakely; and 17 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today (Monday) from 7 p.m.-9 p.m.
