Margaret Woodall Evans

DAWSON — Margaret Woodall Evans, 87, of Albany, formerly of Dawson, died at her residence on April 24, 2008. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 26, at 2 P.M. at Harvey Funeral Chapel with Dr. Robert Williams officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2 P.M.

Mrs. Evans was a native of Mitchell Co., born December 25, 1920, daughter of the late Orson Swindle and Blanche McElvey Swindle. She grew up in Camilla, attended schools there and the University of Georgia.

She lived in Dawson for many years and was preceded in death by her first husband, William Clements “Billy” Woodall of Dawson.

She was a member of the Dawson United Methodist Church and served on the Advisory Board of the University of Georgia Athletic Department. She was an avid bridge player, golfer, traveler and a loyal Georgia Bulldog fan.

Survivors include a daughter, Dotty W. Jones and her husband, Jack, of Albany, two sons, Orson Woodall and his wife, Carol, Valdosta, Hardy Woodall and wife, Liz, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, three grandchildren, Gregg Jones of Albany, Jennifer St. Germain and husband, David, of Panama City Beach, FL, Will Woodall and wife, McCree, of Valdosta, five great-grandchildren, Cameron Jones, Mason and Kendall St. Germain, William and Wren Woodall.

Memorials may be made to The Methodist Children’s Home, P.O. Box 2525, Macon, GA 31203-2525 or to a favorite charity.
