Frances Bates

ALBANY — The graveside funeral service of Frances Bates, 63, of 164 First Road , Leesburg, GA, who died Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital will be conducted Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Leesburg Cemetery. Rev. Bruce Smith will officiate.

A native of Colquitt County, GA, Mrs. Bates had lived in Lee and Dougherty Counties most of her life. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Bates was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Lee Howard and Toye Gladys Hart Howard.

Survivors include her husband, Homer L. Bates of Lee County; a daughter and husband, Sharon and Daniel Shaffer of Brownsville, SC; two sons, Michael Bates and wife, Michelle of Albany and Robert Keith Bates of Lee County; a sister, Linda Hall of Norman Park, Ga.; three grandchildren, Kayle Walls, Chris Walls and Emily Shaffer

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.

Vivian Beaty Gregory

ALBANY — Mrs. Vivian Beaty Gregory, 96, of Albany, died Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Palmyra Nursing Home.

A graveside funeral service will be held Today 11 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery. Dr. Andy Goode will be officiating.

A native of Brooks County, GA, Mrs. Gregory lived in Albany since 1931, where she was a homemaker and a Charter Member of Central Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Holt and second husband, Alton Kirby Gregory.

Survivors include her son, Alton Kirby Gregory Jr. of Albany; a brother, Ronald Beaty of Apalachicola, FL; a sister, Marguerette Beaty Dickson of Thunder Bay Ontario, Canada; a grandson, Jacob Gregory; a granddaughter, Kate Gregory Cherry; two great-grandchildren, Madison Gregory and Elise Cherry; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Kimbrell-Stern.

James Mullin Mancuso

ALBANY — Mr. James Mullin Mancuso, 38 of Atlanta, formerly of Albany died April 26, 2008.

His funeral service will be held Thursday 4 PM at Crown Hill Cemetery. Mr. Pete Daughtry officiating.

A native of Albany, Mr. Mancuso had been living in Atlanta since 1988. He was a graduate of Albany High School and received two Masters Degrees. Mr. Mancuso was a consultant for various contracting companies. He was preceded in death by his brother Chuck Mancuso.

Survivors include his four children, Mason, Ashley, Brandon and Connor, mother Diane Mullin Mancuso, Albany; father, Charles Mancuso and wife Connie, Albany, step brothers Donny Wells and wife Penny, Albany and Dexter Wells, LaGrange.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors.
