Atlanta, GA.
James Ray Miller was born May 31, 1951 in Calhoun Co., Leary, GA., the third
of three children to Ezell Chatman-Miller and Joseph Bill Miller, Sr. He
inherited a rich legacy of faith, family, leadership and entrepreneurship. He

courage and leadership exemplified his heartfelt belief in the word of God I
can do all things through Christ that Strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13).

whose life he touched.
His beliefs publicly were no different privately. He believed in ownership,
hope, love, reconciliation and second chances. This belief, lead him on Lifes
Journey which would give him distinguish recognitions Statewide and
Nationally. In the 1970s, with no formal training, but I can do all things
through Christ that Strengthens me, James Ray Miller began a delivery service
company in Albany, then Albany Delivery Service. It would be the first
minority delivery service that provided ground services for same day delivery
of telegrams and packages, with major corporate accounts. He also was employed
by Merck Pharmaceuticals where he retired. In the 1980s with the rising
numbers of crime in Albany-Dougherty Co., and his belief in reconciliation
James Ray Miller developed Black on Black Crime Prevention which

extensively presenting it annually in Albany for many years. His love for arts
and his desire to improve the quality of life for our community, he gave this
community and region, Millers Fine Art Gallery, the first African American
