His life of extraordinary courage and leadership exemplified his heartfelt belief in the word of God “I can do all things through Christ that Strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13). thus, taking him on a life journey that rewarded not only himself but others whose life he touched.

His beliefs publicly were no different privately. He believed in ownership, hope, love, reconciliation and second chances. In the 1970’s, with no formal training, but “I can do all things through Christ that Strengthens me,” James Ray Miller began a delivery service company in Albany, then Albany Delivery Service. It would be the first minority delivery service that provided ground services for same day delivery of telegrams and packages, with major corporate accounts. He also was employed by Merck Pharmaceuticals where he retired. In the 1980’s with the rising numbers of crime in Albany-Dougherty Co., and his belief in reconciliation James Ray Miller developed Black on Black Crime Prevention which scientifically derived answers to the problem of crime in Albany-Dougherty Co.
