David Larry Clements

CORDELE — Funeral services for Rev. David Larry Clements of Milledgeville will be held Friday, May 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Cordele First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Luke Cemetery in Ben Hill County. Rev. Clements, 59, died at Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville Tuesday, April 29, 2008.

Born in Ben Hill County, he was the son of Nita Luke Clements and the late James Robert Clements. Rev. Clements was a United States Air Force veteran and a Baptist Minister (RET).

He is survived by a son and his wife, David E. and Robin Clements of Americus; two daughters, Lisa M. Clements of Dalton and Lorie A. Everson of Leesburg; his mother, Nita Clements of Peachtree City; grandchildren, Cody Everson, Austin Everson, Carson Clements, Chelsey Clements and Zeke Clements; a brother, Bobby Clements of Fitzgerald; a sister and her husband, Linda and Jim Shealey of Peachtree City; two aunts and their husbands, Lillian and J.D. Cleghorn of Plymouth, FL and Arbie and William Palmer of Fitzgerald; and two uncles and their wives, Gene and Betsy Luke of Fitzgerald and Jimmy and Anita Luke of Benson, NC.

Lydie Mae Lindsey

CUTHBERT — Lydie Mae Lindsey, 83, of Kokomo, IN., a former resident of Cuthbert died April 27, 2008 in Kokomo, IN. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 3rd at 10 A.M. in East View Cemetery in Cuthbert. Rev. Jackie Williams will officiate.

Mrs. Lindsey was born June 30, 1922 in Randolph Co., daughter of the late Murphy Franklin Turner and Sally LouElla McLeod Turner. She was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, was a retired seamstress for Kellwood of Cuthbert and was the widow of Grover Washington Lindsey. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, James, Floyd, and Roy Turner and a sister, Vayde Stevens.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty Brown, Joyce DePoy both of Kokomo, and Velma Brock of Indianapolis, two sons, Dwight Lindsey of Dothan, AL and Randy Lindsey of Bunker Hill, IN, three brothers, Calvin “Buddy” Turner of Albany, Curtis Turner of Lumpkin, and John Turner of Dothan, AL, two sisters, Mary Lou Ranew and Carolyn Lynch both of Lumpkin, 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association. There be no visitation.

ASHBURN — Walter Rowe, 86, of 2712 Balsam Ave., SW. Birmingham, AL. died April 26, 2008 at Plantation Manor Nursing Home, McCalla, AL. Funeral services will be Saturday 11 A.M. at Charity Grove Baptist Church, Doles with interment in Red Oak Cemetery. Rev. Ira Nelson, Pastor will officiate.

Mr. Rowe was born August 18, 1922 in Worth Co. He was educated in the Worth Co. Public School System, he worked as a machine operator for the Harbor Construction Company of Alabama and he was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Williams, Emma Jean Johnson, both of Hempstead, NY, eleven grand’s, six great grand’s and twenty five great great grand’s.
