Codine Tinsley Butler
COLUMBUS Codine Tinsley Butler, 98, passed away on Wednesday, April 30,
2008, of natural causes in Alexandria, VA.
Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at
Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA. The family will
receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 PM prior to services. She lived in
Columbus, GA for many years and was married to Cecil Tinsley until his death
in 1963. She was then married to Arthur Butler until his death in 1986 in
Albany, GA. She lived at the Malone Towers retirement apartments in Albany
until 2003 when her son, Larry Tinsley, brought her to join him in Alexandria.
In Albany, she was a member of the Harvest Temple Church of God.
Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her brothers, Roy and Floyd Barrett
and sisters, Alma Cargell and Wilma Bray. Survivors include her only son,
Larry, stepdaughter, Elizabeth Vann of Albany, as well as numerous nieces and
nephews.

FITZGERALD Reuben Michael Fish, 57, of Fitzgerald, died Thursday, May 1,
1008 at Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Sunday at the funeral home. Interment
will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9
Saturday evening at the funeral home.

BAINBRIDGE Robert Armand Griffin, 44, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away
Thursday, May 1, 2008 in Bainbridge, GA.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2008 at First United
Methodist Church with Rev. Stephen L. Webb officiating. Masonic graveside
rites and military honors will follow at West Bainbridge Cemetery with the
Decatur County Sheriffs Office serving as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 4, 2008 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at

Robert was born March 18, 1964 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Robert Leon
Griffin and Jessie Lou Ramsay Griffin. He retired from the United States Navy
and was a Deputy Sheriff with the Decatur County Sheriffs Office. He was a
Master Mason with Orion Masonic Lodge {pound} 8 F. & A. M.
Survivors include; His wife, Rosalie (Rosi) Brown Griffin of Bainbridge,
GA; his daughter, Michelle Griffin of Donalsonville, GA; two sons, Jesse C.
Griffin of Bainbridge, GA and Timothy Brown of Jacksonville, FL; his parents
Lou and Bruce Jarvey of Bainbridge, GA; one brother, Matthew Griffin and wife
Jessica of Black River Falls, WI; his grandmother, Nadova Ramsay of Bonifay,
FL; and one uncle, Michael Ramsay of Bonifay, FL.

Wilbert L. Hacker
INDIANAPOLIS Wilbert L. Hacker, 65, of Indianapolis died at Lakeview Manor
Health Care in Indianapolis following an extended illness. He was born on May
9, 1942 in Bloomington to the late Raymond and Julia (Stewart) Hacker.
A 1960 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School, he served in the United
States Marine Corps. He retired from Delco Remy in Anderson and was a member
of the Local UAW{pound}. He was a musician and loved to play music at different
churches and in several bands. He also enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include two daughters: Patti (husband, James) Hamby of Sasser, GA,
Tina (husband, Kevin) Beard of Greenville, SC; six grandchildren: Stephanie
(husband, James) Bond of Leesburg, GA, Brooke (husband, Jason) Brassell of
Whitesville, GA, Jacob Hamby of Sasser, GA, Lindsey Beard and Christina Beard
both of Greenville, SC, Chandler Beard of Charleston, SC; brother: Ray (wife,
Nadine) Hacker of New Castle; sister: Norma Hacker of Indianapolis; nephews:
Ken Choate of Indianapolis, Tony (wife, Michelle) Hacker of Spiceland; niece:
Cindy (husband, David) Hawk of New Castle.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Marsha
Hacker; stepmother: Agnes Hacker.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the Hinsey-Brown
Funeral Service at New Castle Chapel with Pastor Lane Fairchild officiating.
Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. Friends may
call from 11:00 until 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the funeral home.

Don Van Young
FAYETTEVILLE Don Van Young, 85, of Senoia, GA died April 20, 2008. He
served in the U.S. Navy as a Master Chief. He was preceded in death by his
wife Dorothy R. (McCracken) Young. Mr. Young is survived by his daughter Karen
Langowski of New Mexico; and sons James W. Young of Senoia and Don Van Young,
Jr. of Nashville, GA.
Mr. Young was buried April 25, 2008 in Andersonville National Historic
Cemetery, Andersonville, GA.
