Rep. Sims would be asset in Senate

My brother-in-law, Michael Meyer von Bremen, has served Senate District 12 for 10 years. He now leaves to run statewide for the Court of Appeals. During this period, I have had the pleasure of being a part of the district campaigns. I’ve listened to him talk about the workings of the Georgia Legislature and what it takes to be an effective legislator.

I have also been a part of Freddie Powell Sims’ campaign. She has served as our state representative for four years and in that time she has gained the respect of her constituents and fellow state representatives. Michael speaks very highly of her willingness to work hard and her desire to put the best interests of her constituents and community first. She has certainly been an asset to those she has served and to Albany.

Numerous people have approached me about encouraging Freddie to run for Michael’s seat. I have talked to people in each county in District 12 and they are ready to support her in this campaign. We would be fortunate to have her in this Senate seat. Freddie Powell Sims has the same qualities that my brother-in- law, Michael, has. She’s ethical, intelligent, honest and has a strong work ethic. I thank her for stepping up to this new challenge.
