Mediacom ignoring TV ‘tiling’ problem

I have reached the end of my rope. I subscribe to all three of Mediacom’s services — phone, internet and cable. I continue to get acceptable phone and Internet service, but my cable reception is less than acceptable. I have gone the extra mile to give Mediacom a chance to correct the problem but they just do not seem interested in me as a customer.

I have the dreaded “tiling” problem. Every few seconds the picture on my flat panel TV screen breaks up into little “tiles” and the sound skips. It is impossible to follow the plot of a show or the flow of a sporting event. This has been going on since January. Several people on my block have the same problem. In early March, I called tech support, my eighth or tenth call, and demanded that a member of management call me. There is no local number to reach management. Six weeks later a very nice young man came by in a bucket truck. I don’t think he was member of management. He pretty much told me that tiling was a known system problem and that they didn’t know what to do about it.

I have a plan. I plan to divide the cable portion of my bill by 30 to arrive at my daily charge. I then plan to deduct this amount from my next bill for each day that I experience the tiling problem. I also call upon each customer who is experiencing this problem to do the same. Maybe missed revenue will get the attention of Mediacom’s management.
