Donations sought for Thanksgiving meals
ALBANY — The Albany Police Georgia Recovery Corps is seeking help in providing food for those in need this Thanksgiving.
“We are asking the community to donate nonperishable food items to support the occasion,” states a news release.
Drop-off locations include:
• Central Police District on Newton Road, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday.
• East Police District on East Oglethorpe Boulevard, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday.
• West Police District on Dawson Road, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday.
• Albany Civic Center, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 21.
Pet Photos with Santa next week
SYLVESTER — Best Friends Humane Society in Worth County will hold its 3rd Pet Photos in Sylvester Tuesday.
The event is scheduled for 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at Jefford’s Park, with registration beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the hut.
Sitting fee is $7.50, which includes a four-by-sinch-inch photo.
Christmas cards sporting photos of families and kids with pets will also be available to purchase.
The event will include refreshments, Christmas music and a photo contest. The opportunity to purchase additional prints, enlargements and copies of photos on a disc.
