ALBANY — The Albany Men’s Garden Club will present its 36th annual Camellia Flower Show Saturday.

The free event is scheduled for 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Albany Mall’s front entrance, near Sears.

Saturday’s show will feature more than 2,000 varieties of in excess of 500 blooms of the ever-green plant.

“Blooms are white to red to pink and every shade in between,” a news release states.

Members of the public are invited to enter their camellias into the show.

“Prizes will be awarded in 20 categories,” the release states. “Judges will come from all over the Southeast.”

Southwest Georgians interested in adding the blooms to their own landscapes can get advice at the show, too.

“Garden club members can advise proper selections for the yard or greenhouse,” the release states.
