Shanon Buie was indicted alongside her husband Oct. 14 in connection with an alleged fraud scheme originating from Don Buie's government center office, prosecutors contend.
District Attorney Greg Edwards said Tuesday afternoon that Shanon Buie agreed to plead guilty in exchange for agreeing to testify against Don Buie at trial next week. Sentence recommendations filed by the state suggest she would have to undergo pre-trial intervention and pay a $1,500 restitution.
Fighting extradition from her North Carolina home, Shanon Buie is the last remaining individual indicted in the case to surrender herself to local authorities.
