AMERICUS -- The Sumter Historic Trust of Americus will present its annual Christmas Tour of Homes this weekend.
The event will be held noon-6 p.m. Saturday.
Tickets four the tour only are $20. For tickets that include an evening cocktail party and buffet, which begins at 7 p.m. at the Lee Council House, the cost is $65. Tickets may be obtained at Americus Welcome Center, Minick Interiors, Windsor Parlour Hair Design on Jackson Street in Americus and any Sumter Historic Trust board member.
Saturday's tour will highlight a variety of historic Americus homes, which range in style from Victorian, Edwardian and Antebellum, all bedecked in holiday fashion.
"This year, the tour's crown jewel will be a circa 1867 Gothic revival style home, which was recently moved from a nearby town, renovated and decorated by its owner, Mr. Furlow Gatewood, an Americus native who has resided in New York for more than 45 years," states a news release.
