ALBANY -- Theatre Albany is ringing in the holiday season with its production of "Christmas Belles."

Performances will be held 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, as well as Dec. 17-19. Matinees are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sunday and Dec. 20.

Tickets are $17 for adults, $14 for senior citizens and $10 for students and active-duty military.

"Christmas Belles" is a comedy set in the small Texas town of Fayro and revolves around the Futrelle sisters, Frankie, Twink and Honey Ray -- none of whom is feeling very festive as the Christmas season nears.

"A cranky Frankie is weeks overdue with her second set of twins," states a news release. "Twink, recently jilted and bitter about it, is in jail for inadvertently burning down half the town. And hot-flash-suffering Honey Raye is desperately trying to keep the Tabernacle of the Lamb's Christmas program from spiraling into chaos."

But chaos ensues as Honey Raye battles for control of the show, while the celebrity Santa passes a kidney stone and one of the shepherds refuses to do the job without towing his red wagon.

"And the entire cast is dropping like flies, due to food poisoning from the band boosters' pancake supper," the release states.

"Christmas Belles" stars Lacy Dollar, Zack Dollar, Sara Hall, Steve Halstead, Joy Johnson, Sandi Lake, Ron McGhee, Kelly Mullins, Kathleen Stroup, Suzanne Unger and Glenn White.

Helping to bring the production to life are Jenny McNair, serving as stage manager, assisted by Tina Justice and Nancy McLendon, as well as sound technician Becky Parker, master electrician Tom Parker and makeup artist Ann Brim Street.
