ALBANY -- It's time, once again, for the Albany Symphony Orchestra's "Peppermint Pops."
Southwest Georgians will have two opportunities to see the 18th annual holiday concert, 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Albany Municipal Auditorium, the original home of the Yuletide concert.
Admission is free with a canned good for Southwest Georgia Food Bank, but tickets are required for each performance. They may be obtained at all U Save It Pharmacy locations, the Albany Chamber of Commerce and the Albany Area Arts Council.
"Peppermint Pops" will feature concert of carols, choruses and music of the Christmas season with the Albany Symphony Orchestra.
Joining the Symphony will be tenor Leroy Bynum singing "O Holy Night" along with a chorus consisting of the Albany Chorale, under the direction of Keith Walker, and students from area high school choirs.
"The concert will include many favorites for adults, as well as children," a news release states.
Prior to both performances, the Albany Marine Band Brass will present pre-concert music on the auditorium plaza.
The annual event will also be televised.
