BOYS
1.) Monroe 8-0
After easily winning its first- and second-round U-Save-It Classic opponents, Monroe tries to finish unbeaten today against a tough Pirates team. Next: vs. Miller County at Albany High, today, 7 p.m.
2.) Westover 9-0
Eventually, Westover will meet a team that can hang with it. The Patriots picked up two wins in the U-Save-It- Classic between Saturday and Monday. Next: vs. Mount Zion at U-Save-It Classic, today, 8:30 p.m.
3.) Terrell County 6-1
How good are the Greenwave? Well, they were 6-1 at this time last year, but will truly find out how good they are today against No. 4 Bainbridge. Next: vs. Bainbridge today at Hoopfest in Thomasville, 5:30 p.m.
4.) Bainbridge 6-3
The Bearcats drop after suffering a third loss of the year, although like losses No.s 1 & 2, it came in the final seconds to another great team. Next: vs. Terrell County today at Hoopfest in Thomasville, 5:30 p.m.
5.) Deerfield-Windsor 6-0
The Knights got the monkey of last year off their back Saturday when they beat the team which denied them the state title, Mount Vernon. Next: at Montgomery (Ala.) Christmas Classic, Dec. 28, TBA.
GIRLS:
1.) Bainbridge 12-0
Bainbridge continues to tear it up, beating Class 6A Lincoln (Fla.) last Friday, then Brooks County on Monday at the Hoopfest. Next: vs. Terrell County, today, TBA
2.) Randolph-Clay 10-1
Four up, four down. That's the way it went for the red-hotLady Red Devils last week as they prepare for another game today. Next: at Bear Brawl Christmas Tournament vs. TBD, today, 4 p.m.
3.) Westover 6-1
The Lady Pats took the week off to rest and nurse a few key injured players back to health, but will pick back up after Christmas. Next: at Callaway tournament, Dec. 28, TBA.
4.) Lee County 10-3
The Lady Trojans went 3-0 last week and -- as the most active team among any in the Top 5 in the early part of the season -- will now rest for a week. Next: at Upson-Lee Tournament, Dec. 28, TBA.
5.) Seminole County 6-1
Seminole County responded last week to its first Top 5 ranking by winning twice, and will sit on its 6-1 record until after the Christmas break. Next: vs. Randolph-Clay, Jan. 5., 6 p.m.
