ALBANY -- A Florida man was fired on twice after he was robbed by two bandits Tuesday night in front of the Motel 6 on the 200 block of Thornton Drive, Phyllis Banks, Albany Police Department spokesperson, said Wednesday.
Banks said that Julio Matienzo, 60, of Miami, Fla., was walking to his room at the Motel 6 around 11:49 p.m. Tuesday when he was approached by two unidentified males.
"One of the suspects held him up at gunpoint and took his wallet," Banks wrote.
Matienzo demanded the suspects give him back his wallet and one of the bandits, who had a handgun, shot at him.
"The victim yelled a second time for his wallet and the suspect fired at him again," Banks wrote.
Matienzo told police the two robbers fled in a small black SUV.
Banks said Matienzo was was not hit by any bullets and suffered no physical injuries.

Anybody is crazy that stays in a motel on the Eastside. Have there been any robberies at the Walmart? If so, I have not seen it reported.
