ALBANY -- The Darton College Players will present its fall production, "The Gifts of the Magi," this week.
Evening performances will begin at 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the Darton College Theater. A matinee performance starts at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is $10 for the general public, $5 for students and free for those presenting Darton College identification.
"The Gifts of the Magi" is a musical with dual inspiration from O. Henry's classic story of a self-sacrificing couple, and the book by Mark St. Germain.
This week's production stars Allen Story and Bethany Carver as the self-sacrificing Jim and Della Dillingham, who each secretly sell their own personal treasures to provide a Christmas gift for the other.
Produced by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, the performance's music is by Randy Courts, with lyrics by Courts and St. Germain.
