ALBANY -- Calling him a person of interest, Albany Police Department investigators want to talk to Eddie Dean Gilyard, 41, about a homicide last Friday, a police e-mail stated.
Police want to question Gilyard in connection with the homicide of Yolanda Roundtree, 45, at her Wild Pines apartment on the 600 block of Sands Drive, Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman, said.
"Police have been working hard to turn up suspects since Friday," Banks said "Gilyard, who is also known as 'Bo,' is also wanted on an outstanding warrant for probation violation."
Gilyard is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 158 pounds, Banks said. His last known address was 212 Waverly Ave. in Albany.
Roundtree was found dead by concerned family members at about 6:45 p.m. Friday. Police called the case a homicide, but so far have not released the manner of death.
"We are not releasing that," Banks said. "That is part of the investigation."
Roundtree's car was reported missing Friday. It was found abandoned Sunday in a parking space behind a home on the 1300 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
The 1997, four-door, white Buick LeSabre was impounded and processed for fingerprints. Banks could not say if there was a connection from the car's processing for evidence to Gilyard.
