ALBANY -- The American Cancer Society will host its 40th annual "Evening of Music with a Purpose" fundraising event next week.
The evening kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Knights of Columbus, located at 2009 Gillionville Road.
Tickets are $50 each or $250-$500 for table-sponsor levels.
With the theme "Celebrating 40 Years of Hope with the 40s," Monday's event will include cocktails, registration, a silent auction, dinner and performances by the Evergreen Family Band and additional Southwest Georgia vocal talent, including Jose Tongol, Milli Sample, Roger Davis, Stephanie Franks, Carla Hawkins, Whitney Coleman and Kent and Christine Morrison.
The evening's honoree speaker will be Col. Daniel Gillan, who is retired from the United States Marine Corps.
Dr. Doug Lorber will serve as the event's master of ceremonies.
