Sinatra Jr. to perform Tuesday

ALBANY -- The son of Old Blue Eyes will head to the Good Life City for a concert next week.

Frank Sinatra Jr., along with the Albany State University Jazz Ensemble, will kick off his performance at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Albany Municipal Auditorium.

Tickets are $32 for reserved seats, $22 for general admission and $7 for students.

Proceeds will fund Albany State University's music scholarships.

During Tuesday's concert, Sinatra will perform songs from the 1960s, including "Fly Me to the Moon and "The Lady is a Tramp."

"Albany State University is indeed fortunate for the opportunity to Frank Sinatra Jr. in concert, and we are doubly fortunate that he has also consented to work with ASU's jazz band," Leroy Bynum, dean of Albany State's College of Arts and Humanities, stated in a news release. "Frank Sinatra Jr. represents a golden era of smooth jazz music making of which is father, Sinatra Sr., stood as a towering figure. His presence among us will serve to introduce some and reaquiant others with this once vastly popular musical form, which became inextricably interwoven into the fabric of the indigenous American jazz idiom."
