ALBANY -- Gunshot wounds sent a man to the hospital at about 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, an e-mail report from the Albany Police Department stated.
Corey Jackson, 28, was shot with what may have been a shotgun on the 100 block of East Road, the report added.
Without commenting on the extent of Jackson's injuries, a hospital spokeswoman said he left Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital before 1 p.m., Wednesday.
"(Jackson) told police that an unknown person drove him to the hospital after he was shot," Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman said. "Jackson sustained several injuries after being shot with what may have been a shotgun."
Calling Jackson uncooperative, Banks wrote in the e-mail that the motive for the shooting might have been an argument Jackson got in about his girlfriend.
"Detectives have not determined if the person who shot Jackson and the person he got in an argument with are the same individual," Banks said.
Anyone with additional information should call Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS (8477) or (229) 431-3288.
