Diabetes screenings set for Saturday

ALBANY — In observation of National Diabetes Awareness Month, the Albany Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority will hold free diabetes screenings this weekend.

The screenings will be held 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at Delta Life Development Center, located at 518 West Oglethorpe Blvd.

“The first 25 participants will receive a blood glucose monitor,” a news release states.

Albany club collects for disabled veterans

ALBANY — The Albany Sowega Sams Chapter Three Camping Club recently delivered items to he Veteran’s Affairs Hospital in Dublin.

Items presented for disabled veterans at the facility include socks, razors, T-shirts, soap, shaving cream.
