Albany Herald
Tonight's above story on Deerfield coming up short for back-to-back state titles -- written by Albany Herald sportswriter for the last 21/2 years, Paul Dehner Jr. -- marks the end of a terrific era in The Herald's sports department. It will, officially, be Dehner's last story in these pages as he moves onward to pursue his next stop -- cnati.com, for those interested in anything and everything regarding major Cincinnati, Ohio, sports -- on an already award-winning journalism career that only continued to flourish during his time with this newspaper. Since early 2007, Paul has pounded the pavement, dirt roads and back roads of Southwest Georgia and the rest of the state, covering everything from the Georgia Bulldogs, to the South Georgia Wildcats to every corner of the 24 high schools in The Herald's coverage area. He's given countless hours of his life to this newspaper and community. He made you think, laugh, cry and even sometimes a little mad with his words. But most importantly, he made you read. And keep on reading.
while Paul will certainly be missed, we wish him the very best of luck in all his future endeavors.
