ALBANY -- Albany police responded to at least 35 incidents Friday into the early morning hours of Saturday, according to available police reports. Police responded to incidents including:
-- An officer on patrol on the 200 block of Roosevelt Avenue saw a man on the ground at about 6: 30 a.m. Friday, police reports stated. The homeless man, Craig Gilbert, 41, asked for help, said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman.
Gilbert said he had been on the 500 block of North Jackson Street at 1 a.m. Friday to pay a haircut bill when he was attacked by two black men who beat him and broke his leg, Banks said.
Gilbert made his way to Roosevelt Avenue where he was spotted, Banks said. He was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment, she added.
Gilbert was discharged from the hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said Saturday.
-- Burglary on the 1900 block of Jackson Street and the 1700 block of 11th Avenue;
-- Theft by receiving stolen property on the 100 block of North Broadway Street;
-- Possession of less than an ounce of marijuana on the 1200 block of Mulberry Avenue;
-- Missing person reported on the 500 block of Flint Avenue;
-- Disorderly conduct a woman reported being followed by a man who threatened her on the 3300 block of Gillionville Road;
-- Entering auto on the 2600 block of Dawson Road;
-- Dog bite of a 9-year-old girl's left leg on the 1200 block of Maryland Drive;
-- A dog on the 2600 block of Gillionville threatened then attacked a police officer while he was on a call about the dog, reports stated. the officer shot and wounded the dog when it attacked, the report stated. The dog was taken to a veterinarian and no further information was available, a police spokeswoman said;
-- Domestic (unfounded) on the 2300 block of Greenleaf lane, the 2200 block of Habersham Road, the 100 block of Marie Road, the 1900 block of Stuart Avenue and the 1700 block of Malone Drive;
-- Simple battery ( domestic violence) on the 1800 block of South Jackson Street and the 600 block of Holloway Avenue;
-- Vandalism (family violence) on the 1300 block of 11th Avenue and the 1300 block of Broad Avenue.
Dougherty County police responded to at least 31 calls, according to police reports.
Police responded to incidents including:
-- Family violence/terroristic threats on the 100 block of Bennett Drive;
-- Unlawful dumping on the 1200 block of Williamsburg Road;
-- Credit card fraud of $48.35 on the 2100 block of Habersham Road;
-- Motor vehicle theft a $6,000 John Deere front loader was removed by a neighbor from the 2700 block of Lonesome Road and sold for scrap, according to reports;
-- Sexual molestation of a 13-year-old girl on the 1200 block of Nixon Drive.
