Police/Fire/EMS - April 8, 2010

ALBANY, Ga. -- Albany Police Department officers responded to at least 36 incidents Tuesday into the early hours of Wednesday, according to available police reports. Police responded to incidents including:

-- Deceased person on the 2400 block of Brierwood Drive;

-- Burglary on the 500 block of North Westover Boulevard and the 200 block of Marie Road;

-- Disorderly conduct, a man beaten up on the 1300 block of East Society Avenue;

-- A 73-year-old, Alzheimer's patient reported missing, later found and returned home on the 1400 block of Jones Avenue;

-- Demented person on the 500 block of South Carroll Street;

-- Simple battery on the 700 block of North Jefferson Street;

-- Theft by taking on the 500 block of Pinson road;

-- Domestic (unfounded) on the 100 block of Hillside Drive, the 1200 block of Seventh Avenue, the 1500 block of West Highland Avenue, the 800 block of Mercer Avenue, the 900 block of South Madison Street, the 900 block of South Cleveland Street, the 1100 block of Crawford Drive and the 200 block of Collins Street.

-- Assault on the 400 block of Gaines Avenue, the 1000 block of Cedar Avenue and the 600 block of Johnson Road.

DOUGHERTY POLICE: Dougherty County police responded to at least 15 calls, according to police reports.

Police responded to incidents including:

-- Burglary theft of a Lorcin handgun, a laptop computer, a gold bracelet, a digital camera, an engagement ring set and clothing all worth $3,605 on the 300 block of Elizabeth Avenue;

-- Vehicle search on the 100 block of Holly Drive.

DOUGHERTY EMS: Emergency medical services responded to 52 calls on Tuesday. There were 37 medical calls, 12 trauma calls and three other calls. Medical calls included, two chest pains, seven respiratory problems, two faint, two diabetic complaints, four seizures, two mental problems, two cardiac arrest, two miscellaneous pain calls, one stroke symptoms and 12 various medical. Trauma calls included six vehicle crash injuries, four falls, one bite and one fights/assaults. Other calls are typically standby for other units and patient transport.

LEE SHERIFF: Lee County deputies responded to at least five calls, according to police reports.

Deputies responded to incidents including:

-- Theft of a refrigerator from a porch on the 100 block of Sandy Beach Road;

-- Motor vehicle theft of a $7,000, 2002 Chevrolet Impala, a wallet with $300 in cash and other items on the 1400 block of South US 19;

-- Assault (domestic) on the 100 block of Mayfield Drive.

ALBANY FIRE: Albany firefighters responded to 16 calls including:

-- Unattended cooking, three EMS assist, two vehicle fires, two grass fires, four alarm activations, a forest fire, a trash fire, a vehicle crash with injuries and a gasoline spill.
