ALBANY -- The Albany Police Department is searching for three suspects who physically assaulted three people during an armed robbery Sunday morning.
According to police, three unknown black males forced their way into a residence on the 400 block of Poplar Avenue by kicking in a side door of the residence around 7 a.m. Sunday.
Police said once inside the residence, the three suspects demanded money from the residents, ages 18, 22 and 17.
The victims told police the three suspects, who were all armed with various weapons, demanded money from them and when they told the suspects they did not have any money, each was assaulted.
A female victim was struck in the head with a handgun by one of the suspects and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The victims told police that among the weapons the suspects had were a handgun and a knife. Two of the suspects were dressed in all black, and the third was wearing a brown shirt. All three had their faces covered.
