ALBANY, Ga. -- Three black men kicked in a door at 6:20 a.m. Tuesday, pointed rifles at a man and stole an undetermined amount of cash from a residence on the 1600 block of Maryland Drive, an Albany Police Department report stated.

While investigating the robbery, officers found less than an ounce of cocaine in the residence and called the Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit for assistance, said drug unit commander Maj. Bill Berry.

Clarence Gray, 55, who called the police about the burglary, is in Dougherty County Jail charged with possession of cocaine and parole violation, a jail spokeswoman said. He has no bond, she added.

"Officers responded to a burglary in progress," said APD spokeswoman Phyllis Banks. "When they arrived, the victim told officers that he was held at gunpoint and robbed."

Two of the thieves were armed with rifles, Banks said. The suspects grabbed cash and fled the area on foot.

No one was injured during the robbery, Banks said.

Police have asked for the public's help in locating the thieves. One is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and wore a white tank top and gray jogging shorts. The second is 5 feet, 10 inches, weighs 200 pounds and wore a black shirt with unknown colored pants. The third is 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing 175 pounds and wore a black shirt with unknown colored pants.
