ALBANY, Ga. -- Firefighters responded to a man burning clothing in a back yard after midnight on April 17 and found a gun pointed at them, said Sam Harris, Albany Fire Department investigator.
"Zaybian Barber was burning his wife's clothes in the back yard," Harris said. "He pointed a gun at a firefighter and said he would shoot them."
Barber was arrested for criminal trespass at 430 Watkins St. by the Albany Police Department officers and was taken to the Dougherty County Jail, Harris said. Barber, 30, was released from jail on $1,000 bond.
A warrant was issued for Barber's arrest Friday on aggravated assault charges based on a fire department official's complaint, Harris said.
The Dougherty County Sheriff's Office probably will get the warrant to serve on Barber thethis morning, sheriff's Capt. Craig Dodd said.
"We get 1,000 warrants a month. The warrant team will probably be assigned it Saturday," Dodd said. "We get them for rape, aggravated assault and homicide and they are prioritized and we usually pick them up pretty fast."
