ATLANTA (AP) -- State Rep. Austin Scott says he's running for the U.S. House seat held by Democrat Jim Marshall.
Scott was a Republican candidate for governor. But the Tifton insurance agent said Thursday he will instead run in Georgia's 8th Congressional District.
The announcement leaves the Republican governor's race a little less crowded. Scott was among a half-dozen candidates vying to succeed Gov. Sonny Perdue.
