ALBANY -- An Albany man was jailed on charges of aggravated battery for taking a metal pipe and repeatedly beating a man at Dollar Inn on June 29, stated an Albany Police Department report.
"Emmanuel Yarbrough was picked up at approximately 2:20 p.m. at a home on the 500 block of South Van Buren Street," said Phyllis Banks, Albany police spokeswoman. "He has been charged with aggravated battery and additional charges are pending."
The victim of the beating, Gary Cox, 43, is doing well, Banks said.
Yarbrough, 18, is in Dougherty County jail with no bail set, a jail spokeswoman said.
When Yarbrough was apprehended he was less than a mile from his last known residence, 610 Burke Ave. He offered no resistance and no drugs or weapons were found in his possession, Banks said.
Because the case remains under investigation, Banks said she could not elaborate on what other charges Yarbrough could face.
