SYLVESTER, Ga. -- City officials have confirmed that a man who died in a murder-suicide over the weekend was, in fact, a former longtime city commissioner.
Saturday, agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation were called to a home on Youngblood Road in Sylvester after a family member found the bodies of Bill and Sarah Lee Miller.
Assistant Special-Agent-in-Charge Mark Pro confirmed Monday morning that the office is treating the incident as a possible murder-suicide and that the bodies have been taken to a GBI crime lab for autopsy.
"Indications are right now that it was," Pro said in an interview minutes ago.
Bill Miller spent 18 years on the Albany City Commission and was honored with having the Bill Miller Community Center named after him.
