APD seeks thief in One Stop Foods burglary

ALBANY, Ga. -- An alarm brought Albany Police Department officers to the One Stop Foods store to find thieves stealing cigarettes around 3 a.m. Tuesday, a police report stated.

Police caught Nyrie Harvey, 31, in a 1996 Ford F-150 on the 1400 block of Oakridge Drive, said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman.

Police are searching for Fredrick Harvey, 33, as the thief who ran away from the scene when they closed in, she added.

Harvey stands about 6-foot-2 and weighs 175 pounds, the report stated. His last known address is 606 Johnny W. Williams Road, it added.

Police took out warrants on Frederick Harvey for the burglary and theft from the store.

"Nyrie Harvey has also been charged with burglary in the case," Banks said. "Detectives believe she acted as an accomplice, but at this point in the investigation they do not believe she entered the business."
