Police/Fire/EMS - Sept. 1, 2010

ALBANY, Ga. -- Albany police responded to at least 49 incidents Monday into the early hours of Tuesday, according to available reports. Police responded to incidents including:

-- Inhumane treatment of animals; a dead puppy tied to a rope on the 1200 block of Catalina Lane;

-- Armed robbery; a woman reported being hit on the head with a gun on the 800 block of Corn Avenue;

-- Burglaries on the 1200 block of North Slappey Boulevard, the 2000 block of Colquitt Avenue, the 200 block of Turner Field Road, the 1500 block of Malone Avenue, the 1900 block of North Maple Avenue, the 2500 block of Brierwood Drive and the 100 block of Hunter Street;

-- Theft by taking of a two-axle trailer, a felony, on the 2200 block of North Slappey Boulevard;

-- Simple battery on the 800 block of Corn Avenue;

-- Entering an auto on the 300 block of Fernridge Drive;

-- Disorderly conduct, fights, on the 600 block of West Highland Avenue and the 100 block of North Cleveland Avenue;

-- Theft by taking, a felony, on the 1600 block of Estelle Avenue;

-- Forgery; a fake check written on the 400 block of Slappey Boulevard;

-- Simple assault on the 200 block of Cordele Road;

-- Recovered property; a plastic bag with a small amount of leafy green substance was found while cleaning up a restaurant on the 600 block of North Westover Boulevard;

-- Financial transaction card fraud on the 2000 block of Schlling Avenue;

-- Battery (domestic violence) on the 2000 block of Skylane Drive;

-- Domestic disturbances (unfounded) on the 100 block of Valencia Road, the 2800 block of Partridge Drive, the 500 block of Don Cutler Drive, the 800 block of Hardy Street, the 100 block of Whiting Drive and the 1900 block of Birch Lane;

-- Burglary (domestic violence) on the 2000 block of Gay Avenue.

DOUGHERTY POLICE: Dougherty County police responded to at least 15 calls Monday, according to reports. Police responded to incidents including:

-- Damage to property on the 1500 block of Canary Lane;

-- Motor vehicle theft of a 1993 Chevrolet truck on the 600 block of Holly Drive; the truck was recovered with front-end damage;

-- Fraud; $482.86 charged to a lost card on the 900 block of Parrish Lane;

-- Domestic violence (unfounded) on the 3400 block of Aristedes Road;

-- Deceased person (natural) on the 5100 block of Old Dawson Road;

-- Motor vehicle theft of a $1,500 1993 Ford F-150 pickup on the 3100 block of War Eagle Avenue;

-- Family violence on the 3100 block of Staton Drive;

-- Traffic arrest/video piracy investigation on the 500 block of South Westover Boulevard; a passenger was in possession of a large number of pirated DVD copies;

-- Accidental property damage; a windshield was cracked by a rock from a dump truck on the 1500 block of the Liberty Expressway.

DOUGHERTY EMS: Emergency medical services responded to 54 calls on Monday. There were 30 medical calls, 20 trauma calls and four other calls. Medical calls included four chest pains, one respiratory problem, one altered mental state, one diabetic complaint, one seizure, one obstetrics call, two mental problems, four miscellaneous pain calls and 15 various medical calls. Trauma calls included 10 vehicle crash injuries, six falls, one burn, one laceration, one gunshot and one fight/assault.
