'King George,' Reba McEntire show scheduled

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Tickets go on sale today at 10 a.m. for the Jan. 27 George Strait/Reba McEntire concert at the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center.

The duo of country music legends will be joined by Lee Ann Womack for their "Finally Together for the First Time" tour.

Strait, who was named Artist of the Decade by the Academy of Country Music last year, has released 57 No. 1 singles, the most by any artist of any musical genre, and his 33 different platinum or multiplatinum albums are the most ever in country music.

Reba has sold 55 million albums worldwide and has released 33 No. 1 singles, while Womack, a two-time Grammy winner, has sold 6 million albums in her career.

Tickets for the concert are available at the TLCCC box office at 505 W. Pensacola St., at Ticketmaster outlets or online at ticketmaster.com. Tickets may be purchased by phone at (800) 322-3602.

The Tallahassee venue will also present the second feature of its 2010-2011 Broadway Series Thursday when John Preece stars as Tevye in the Tony-winning classic "Fiddler on the Roof."

Preese has performed in the North American Tour of the 1964 hit musical -- which features such classic tunes as "If I Were a Rich Man," "Matchmaker, Matchmaker" and "Sunrise, Sunset" -- more than 3,100 times. This is his ninth national tour of "Fiddler."

Tickets for the one-time performance, which are priced from $15 to $76, are on sale at the outlets listed above. For additional information on either performance, log onto the www.tlccc.org website or call (850) 222-0400.
