COLUMBUS -- Former Monroe and Darton star Dominique Gilbert was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week on Monday after a stellar seven days for Columbus State.

Gilbert, a junior, was dominant for the Lady Cougars, averaging 17.5 points and 13.5 rebounds a game. Playing at AASU's Hampton Inns & Suites Fall Finals Classic, Gilbert scored 14 points and had 12 rebounds in a loss to Anderson, then had an even better game with 21 points and 15 rebounds in a win against Mt. Olive. The double-doubles were her third and fourth of the season, making her only the fifth PBC player with four or more so far this year.

Gilbert's big week vaulted her into a tie for eighth on the PBC scoring list, and she is now also fifth in the league in rebounding and third in blocks.
