ALBANY, Ga. -- The White and Green family Christmases at McIntosh Homes got a little brighter Wednesday.
The Boys and Girls Club of Albany, sponsored by SASCO Chemical Company, distributed Christmas gifts and holiday dinners to the Whites and Greens in addition to eight other families throughout the city.
"This is a tradition we've done for years with the help of the Boys and Girls Club," SASCO Technical Sales Representative Brian Davis said. "It's a special opportunity for us to give something back to the community. Working with the Boys Club makes things a lot easier for us.
"We asked our employees to bring in gifts a month ago, and they responded. This effort really touches your heart. The kids are all smiles, and the parents are very happy as well."
Davis added that his company plans to continue the tradition.
"We will continue to do this for a long time to come," he said. "It's a really good experience for all concerned."
Boys and Girls Club Director of Operations Bob Hutchinson expressed appreciation to SASCO and its employee.
"We work closely with the company and chose the families," Hutchinson said. "In addition to the presents for the kids, we also provide a complete holiday meal with turkey and all the fixings.
"It's nice to know we helped some families have a Christmas."
